The territorial police in Rukungiri are currently seeking suspects in connection with the alleged murder of 58-year-old Kashumbusha Rusiano, a resident of Karushanje cell in Rubanga parish, Buyanja sub-county, Rukungiri district. Mr. Rusiano’s body was discovered on March 9, 2024, at approximately 07:30hrs along the pathway at Kashonga lower cell in Rubanga parish, Buyanja sub-county.
According to reports, on March 8, 2024, Mr. Rusiano attended the burial of Mrs. Tumwebaze at Omukatojo cell, Rubanga parish, Buyanja sub-county, Rukungiri district. After the burial, he departed for the nearby trading center of Kagarama. Later that evening, around 19:30hrs, he left the trading center and headed towards his home.
The following morning, March 9, 2024, at approximately 07:30hrs, Mr. Ahereza Gerald discovered Mr. Rusiano’s body near the footpath on the farm of Ruhogo.
Mr. Gerald promptly alerted the area chairperson, Mr. Tukahirwa Narsisio, who then informed Mr. Kayambi Gideon, the deceased’s brother. Mr. Gideon subsequently notified Mr. Agaba Rubondo, the chairman of the local council 3, who reported the incident to Buyanja police.
A murder case was promptly registered, and the scene of the crime was visited, examined, and documented. Mr. Rusiano’s body was conveyed to Rwakabengo Health Center III mortuary for postmortem examination.
The police are urging anyone with information that could help in the investigation and lead to clues about the circumstances surrounding Mr. Rusiano’s death to come forward and assist the authorities in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
