Hundreds of mourners from various walks of life on Friday gathered in Rukondo Village, Western Division, Rukungiri Municipality, to bid farewell to the late Kamusiime Milton, a prominent resident, and chairperson of the Rukungiri Taxi Owners, Drivers, and Conductors Cooperative Society.

Born in 1970, Kamusiime recently became the chairperson of the Rukungiri District Taxi Owners, Drivers, and Conductors Association.

Former chairperson Silage Kabwende, along with retired Captain Kazooba Joshua, the current chairperson of the Rukungiri District Transporters Cooperative Society, praised Kamusiime as a cornerstone of the transport sector in Rukungiri District and Southwestern Uganda. They highlighted his cooperative spirit, development-oriented mindset, and exemplary conduct toward both drivers and passengers.

Kamusiime is survived by his wife, Kenganzi Dezera, and six children. Dezera shared that her husband battled cancer for several years before passing away.

In his sermon, the Very Rev. Amatsiko Niwegariho, Dean of Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasano, urged mourners to live righteous lives if they hope to enter the kingdom of God. He also commended Kamusiime for being a dedicated Christian who actively supported the church.
