Retired Reverend Nathan Tigakanya, the former Archdeacon of Nyakisoroza Archdeaconry in North Kigezi Diocese, delivered a sermon on Friday, urging believers to embrace love for one another. Emphasizing the transient nature of this world, he cited Psalm 90 from the Bible during the send-off ceremony for Mzee Kezekia Mwesigye, the late grandfather of Mr. Wednesday Twinomujuni, the Chairperson of LC3 Nyakishenyi Sub County in Rukungiri district.

Mzee Kezekia, born on January 16, 1920, passed away on January 17, 2024, at the age of 104. He is survived by two daughters, 33 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. In his sermon, Ven. Nathan Tigakanya highlighted the significance of love for a happy and everlasting life.

During the burial service at Rwakitura Leisure Gardens in Nyakishenyi sub-county, Mr. Wednesday expressed gratitude on behalf of Mzee Kezekia’s children, recognizing the deceased’s hard work, generosity, and support for others and the church.

At the same event, Mr. Geoffrey Kyomukama, the LC5 Chairperson of Rukungiri district, urged the community to use financial resources wisely to overcome poverty. He assured them that a road construction tractor would soon be available and requested patience from the residents.
