Nyarushanje Sub-county Deputy Speaker and Councillor for Older Persons, Hon. Tom Rugarwana, has celebrated his 70th birthday by donating a guitar worth UGX 1.7 million to Kayanga Catholic Church Parish.
Rugarwana, who also serves as Chairperson of the Fathers’ Union in Nyarushanje Catholic Parish, said the gesture was a way of giving thanks to God for guiding him through life’s challenges and achievements. He noted that the donation was inspired by his desire to support and uplift worship through music, encouraging Christians to praise with joy, faith, and dedication.
Reflecting on his journey, Rugarwana expressed deep gratitude to God for sustaining him through both difficult and successful moments, particularly during his years of service as a headteacher and community leader. He emphasized that his life has been a testament to perseverance and faith.
He also paid tribute to his family for their unwavering support, as well as Catholic Church leaders who presided over and supported his thanksgiving celebration. Among those he recognized were Rev. Fr. Brian Monday, Rev. Fr. Davis Keinamura, and Rev. Fr. Elias Kasigeire, the Parish Priest of Nyarushanje Catholic Church, for their spiritual guidance and continued prayers for his family.
Looking ahead, Rugarwana reaffirmed his commitment to serving both God and the community. He revealed plans to contribute to the development of Kayanga Primary School, highlighting his passion for promoting education and building a strong future for the younger generation.
He further encouraged young people to work hard, use their skills productively, and prepare for their future. He urged them to respect their parents, take pride in themselves, and believe in their ability to overcome poverty and achieve success.
