Ntungamo Members of the District Service Commission across the country have been called upon to uphold transparency, fairness, and integrity while performing their work to ensure the recruitment of capable and qualified public servants within the district.

The call was made yesterday by Kiiza Fedelis, the Chief Administrative Officer of Ntungamo District Local Government, while presiding over the swearing-in ceremony of Rev. Canon Joash Twinomujuni, who will represent Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) on the commission at a function held at the district council grounds.

Kiiza noted that the district has made significant progress in prioritizing transparency in its activities. He also cautioned the public against fraudsters posing as commission brokers who extort money from job seekers by promising them jobs at the district, citing that this destroys the image of the district and all other district stakeholders.

Commission Chairperson Alex Twebuze revealed that the department faced challenges due to lacking a full committee. He noted that since the commission is now fully constituted, this will reduce pending work and serve job seekers more effectively than before.

Rev. Joash Twinomujuni pledged unity, cooperation, and togetherness among the Service Commission team. He thanked the Ntungamo stakeholders for granting him a second chance of being on the same committee, citing that he will use his experience and God-given opportunity to extend services required by people across the district.

The Ntungamo District Service Commission is chaired by Alex Twebuze, with Lay Canon Evah Kagimba representing urban councils, Engineer Tobias Karekaho as a member, Mary Uwagaga representing women, and Rev. Canon Joash Twinomujuni representing persons with disabilities for his second term.
