The National Drug Authority (NDA) in a joint operation with Uganda police forces has impounded 292 boxes of assorted drugs estimated to be over 100 million in a one-week operation carried out in western Uganda
In a pressing briefing held at the NDA headquarters in Mbarara city on Friday, Samuel Kyomukama the head of enforcement at the National drug authority says the five-day operation was carried out in 11 districts of the western region.
Kyomukama noted that the inspection was carried out in 281 drug outlets that including one pharmacy, 11 vet drug shops, 9 clinics

In his remarks the Rwizi region, police spokesperson ASP Samson Kasasira said that police is ready to arrest anyone involved in flouting standards. According to the National Drug Authority over 100 cases are in court across the county over non-compliance to standards.
