Pastor Isaac Turyamureeba of Kikoni SDA Church on Saturday delivered a cautionary message to students and pupils, advising them to preserve their inherent qualities like integrity, conscience, and their physical well-being rather than trading them for worldly riches. This message was shared during the dedication ceremony of 40 P7 candidates from Kikoni SDA Primary School in Ntungamo municipality.

Pastor Turyamureeba emphasized the consequences of sacrificing one’s integrity and body for material wealth, drawing a parallel to the biblical story of Esau, who exchanged his birthright for worldly gain. He urged the students to cultivate patience, work hard in their studies, and strive to achieve success, much like Jacob from the same biblical narrative.

Pastor Patrick Mukiga, who assisted Pastor Turyamureeba, encouraged the candidates to stay steadfast in their faith in Jesus Christ. Councilor Kyotungire Annet Kanyamunyu, representing Mayor Ntungamo municipality Jacob Kafureeka, advised the candidates to seek divine guidance and rely on God for success. She also recommended that they avoid distractions after their exams and cooperate with their parents as they prepare for secondary school.

Councilor Annet Kanyamunyu expressed gratitude to the school’s staff, led by Head Teacher Ntereire Geoffrey, for consistently improving the school’s academic standards year after year. Asaph Kahigana, the chairman of the School management at Kikoni SDA Primary School, assured the candidates that it’s never too late to achieve their goals. He pledged support during their exams, offering them pencils, good wishes, and treats.

Chairman of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), Mugizi Nicholas Kanaahe, thanked the foundation body for dedicating the candidates. Head Teacher Ntereire Geoffrey also conveyed his appreciation to the parents for entrusting their children to the school and expressed confidence that the candidates would perform excellently, noting the school’s strong performance in the previous year.

Ntereire highlighted that in the previous year, the school achieved good results, with 15 candidates receiving first-grade scores and others securing second-grade scores. The primary seven candidates are set to sit for the Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) on the 8th and 9th of this month, which will take place across the country.
