The Diocese of Muhabura has donated 10 wheelchairs valued at 9 million Shillings to children with disabilities in Kisoro District. The ceremony took place at Potter’s Village in Northern Division, Kisoro Municipality, where the diocesan Bishop, Rt Rev Godfrey Mbitse, emphasized the importance of not discriminating against children with disabilities within their families. He stressed that these children possess unique blessings and means of communication that enrich their lives, and deserve equal care and respect.

Aidah Kyarimpa, the administrator of Potter’s Village, expressed gratitude for the donation, acknowledging the financial challenges parents often face in meeting their children’s needs. She stated, “We encounter difficulties in providing necessary support to children with disabilities. We are grateful to the diocese for their generous donation.”

The wheelchairs were distributed to individuals with disabilities from various religious backgrounds, including Anglicans, Catholics, and Adventists. Potter’s Village, established by Rev. Canon Jenny Green, aims to care for children with disabilities and other vulnerable infants from birth.
