Police in Sheema District are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 20-year-old man in Rutooma cell, Rutooma ward, Kitagata town council. Marcial Tumusiime, the spokesperson for Greater Bushenyi police, has identified the deceased as Muhamudu Kimbugwe, a casual worker originally from Nekoyede cell, Namariga ward, Nakifuma town council in Mukono District.

The incident allegedly occurred during the night of January 13, 2023, when the deceased was at Rutooma trading center, consuming alcohol until around midnight. Subsequently, he reportedly went to his boss’s residence in an inebriated state and fell asleep. According to Godfrey Muhimbise, the manager at the farm where the deceased worked, he discovered the lifeless body when Kimbugwe failed to wake up.

Tumusiime mentioned that the deceased was found lying on his spine, alone in the room. The body was then transported to Kitagata Hospital for a postmortem examination to determine the cause of death.

The investigation is ongoing to clarify the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate incident.
