The territorial police in Kisoro have arrested two suspects for questioning in connection with the alleged murder of 65-year-old Angelica Kamaganzo, a peasant and resident of Kigeyo Village, Kigeyo Ward, Nyanamo Town Council in Kisoro District.
According to reports, on Sunday, 16th February 2025, around 14:00hrs, Kamaganzo informed her stepson, Kwiringira Auleriano Sunday, that she had quarreled with Twimukye Grace. Kwiringira advised her to report the matter to the police.
However, before she could do so, on the same day at around 20:30 hrs, Kwiringira heard the deceased shouting, “They are killing me,” from his home. He immediately alerted neighbors, and the police were informed.
The crime scene was visited by the District Police Commander, the District Scene of Crime Officer (SOCO), a team of detectives, and armed uniformed personnel. Statements were taken from relevant witnesses, and the body was transferred to Kisoro Hospital for a postmortem.
Two suspects have been arrested to assist in the investigation, according to ASP Maate Elly, PRO Kigezi.
