Thousands of football fans turned up at Rwamabondo Town Council Playground in Ntungamo District to witness an exciting match between Rwamabondo Town Council FC and Boona FM FC, held as part of the Ekyiguturo Rwaata Ngoma activations marking Boona FM’s nine years of service.
The closely contested game ended in a 1-1 draw, showcasing both teams’ determination and entertaining the large crowd that had gathered in support.
Akora Nicholas, an agent with Boona Radio and a key organizer of the match, commended the community for its overwhelming turnout. He highlighted the radio station’s ongoing contribution to youth development and praised the players for their discipline on the pitch. He reaffirmed Rwamabondo’s commitment to supporting Boona FM in its initiatives.
Jone Jones Marula Rutekama, who represented Boona Radio and led the team, also applauded the people of Rwamabondo for their enthusiasm and strong show of support.
The match marked the second event in a series of activities leading up to the much-anticipated anniversary celebrations scheduled for July 11, 2026. The celebrations are expected to bring together thousands of people from across the district in a spirit of unity and friendship.
