The local community is reeling from the tragic incident of Musekura Robert, a 48-year-old teacher residing in Kabahesi Cell, Buhara Sub-County, Kabale District, who was found deceased in the waters of R. Rwabakazi in Nyakahita Cell. The incident, reported by Sayuni Livingstone, the brother-in-law of the deceased, has prompted police involvement and an ongoing investigation.

The incident unfolded when Musekura Robert, in an apparent act of suicide, left a will among his belongings at his in-law’s residence.

In the will, he expressed personal frustrations, stating that the world was not his home. He also requested a dignified burial, specifying the location where he wished to be interred. The news of his disappearance led to announcements on various radio stations to aid in locating him.

The case was registered at Kabale Police Station under SD REF: 23/26/01/2024, and the Homicide Team from Kabale CPS took charge of the investigation.

On 28/01/2024, the body of the victim was discovered in the waters of River. Rwabakazi, prompting immediate police response.

The O/C CID, D/SP Mukama Hakim, led the team to the crime scene, where the body was retrieved and transported to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital Mortuary.

Identification of the deceased was confirmed by his wife, Jean Nyiramahoro Musekura.

Currently, no arrests have been made, and investigations are ongoing as authorities seek to understand the circumstances surrounding Musekura Robert’s tragic end.

The community mourns the loss of a teacher whose untimely death has left many questions unanswered.
