The police of Rukiga are hunting for a 30-year-old Nelson Sunday of Katungu Cell, Kibanda Parish, Kamwezi Sub-county, Rukiga District, allegedly for the assault of 44-year-old Kedeth Katushabe of the same address, who died some weeks after the incident.
It’s alleged that on 02/06/2024, at around 1500 hours, Nelson had domestic issues with his wife, Janet, who ran to the home of Kedeth, now deceased, for rescue. Janet entered the house and exited through the back door, continuing to run. The suspect then went to Kedeth and asked for his wife’s whereabouts, and Kedeth showed him the direction she had run.
After failing to find his wife, the suspect instead went to Kedeth’s house, grabbed her, and started boxing her in the forehead and lower jaw. Kedeth reported the case at Kamwezi Police Station, and they were reconciled with the suspect.
Unfortunately, on 09/07/2024, at around 2200 hours, Kedeth passed away at Kamwezi Health Center Four, where she had been admitted for treatment.
The scene of the crime was visited, processed, and documented, and a postmortem was conducted. Inquiries are ongoing, and efforts to arrest the suspect are being made.
