Members of Kebisoni SACCO in Kebisoni Town Council, Rukungiri District have been encouraged to embrace a culture of saving for their future and to actively participate in the growth of their cooperative.
The call was made during the SACCO’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), where members also celebrated 25 years of steady growth and service to the community.
Speaking during the event, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Safari, the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Kebisoni SACCO, who also serves as Chairperson of Kigezi SACCOs Union and Uganda Cooperative Alliance, said he has been at the helm since 7th March 2001. He noted that the SACCO has grown remarkably from a small group of members to a strong membership of about 12,000 people today. He urged those who have not yet joined to come on board, acquire shares, and benefit from increased returns on their savings.
The General Manager, Ainembabazi Advine, expressed appreciation to both the Board and members for their commitment and teamwork, which she said has driven the SACCO’s success over the years. She called for continued unity and encouraged more people to join and contribute to the SACCO’s development.
The Marketing Manager, Amosi Akampurira, also thanked members for their support and encouraged them to keep saving and investing in shares to maximize their profits. He further advised members to take advantage of loan facilities to improve their businesses, pay school fees, and support other income-generating activities.
