Christians of Rujumbura Archdeaconry on Monday joyously welcomed their newly appointed Archdeacon, Ven Dickson, and his wife Charity Kakanyisa. The couple recently transferred from Bwanga Archdeaconry to Rujumbura Archdeaconry as part of the recent clergy transfers within North Kigezi Diocese.

The welcoming ceremony took place at All Saints Church, serving as the headquarters of Rujumbura Archdeaconry. The atmosphere was filled with singing and rejoicing as the congregation warmly received their new spiritual leader. Ven Dickson was escorted by a delegation from Bwanga Archdeaconry, led by Patrick Muhangi, the head of laity in Bwanga Archdeaconry.

During the event, Patrick Muhangi encouraged the Christians of Rujumbura Archdeaconry to make the most of their hardworking, committed, and development-oriented new Archdeacon.

Rauben Amanyire and Moses Muhoozi, the head of laities at All Saints Church Rukungiri, also extended a warm welcome to the new Archdeacon. They pledged to collaborate with him for the development of All Saints Church, emphasizing ongoing projects such as the construction of their commercial house, spreading the word of God, and fostering cooperation among all Christians in Rujumbura Archdeaconry.

Alfred Katabazi, the head of laity in Rujumbura Archdeaconry, assured the new Archdeacon of their cooperation across the entire Archdeaconry. He expressed gratitude to the Christians of Bwanga Archdeaconry for escorting Ven Dickson to his new place of service.

In response, Ven Dickson and Charity Kakayisa expressed their gratitude to the Christians for the warm welcome. Ven Dickson shared that he received his training from All Saints Church Rukungiri in 2014 and is now thrilled to be appointed as an Archdeacon. He affirmed his commitment to working with Christians in all churches within Rujumbura Archdeaconry to promote development, with a primary focus on preaching the word of God.

Various dignitaries attended the event, including clergy members like the North Kigezi Diocesan Missioner Rev Edson Ampeire, Diocesan coordinator of the Fathers’ Union Rev Ronald Natuhwera, lay leaders, government officials, business community representatives, and other notable figures.
