Police in Rubirizi District are investigating a fatal accident that resulted in the deaths of four people.
The incident occurred on August 10, 2024, at 5:00 AM in Nkombe Village along the Kasese-Ishaka Road. According to Marcial Tumusiime, the Greater Bushenyi police spokesperson, the accident involved a Toyota Probox with registration number UBQ 896N.
Tumusiime confirmed that the identities of the deceased and the victims have not yet been determined. The accident reportedly happened when the vehicle, traveling from Ishaka toward Kasese, lost control while descending in Nkombe. The driver, who was allegedly speeding, swerved off the road and overturned into a trench.
The victims were initially rushed to Comboni Hospital for medical treatment. The bodies have been taken to Rugazi Health Centre IV for postmortem examination.
