The Rubabo Constituency NRM flag bearer, Hon. Mathius Rwabugumi, has called on all NRM leaders and party structures to unite in mobilizing and campaigning for President Yoweri Museveni and all party flag bearers, stressing that leadership should be driven by love for the party, not financial gain.
Hon. Rwabugumi made the remarks while meeting NRM structures and residents of Bugera Parish and Nyabitete in Buyanja Subcounty, Rubabo Constituency.
He emphasized the importance of organizing strong campaigns for the NRM presidential candidate and all flag bearers, as well as preparing to welcome the President during his visit to Rukungiri on 26th November 2025.
Hon. Rwabugumi urged leaders from the LC1 level upwards to begin an intensive mobilization drive to secure their party flags and ensure better service delivery. He noted that some structure leaders have been misled by financial influence and are now supporting the opposition despite holding NRM flags, which he said goes against the party constitution.
He encouraged them to refocus, strengthen their commitment, and rally supporters in big numbers ahead of the President’s visit.
Retired Major Flugence Muhirwe, who also serves as a DEC member representing veterans in Rukungiri District, said this mobilization effort presents a crucial opportunity for the NRM to regain full support in Rubabo. He noted that the divisions that arose during the NRM primaries weakened party cohesion, but emphasized the need to rally behind the official flag bearer and clearly communicate the party’s message to voters.
Maj. Muhirwe reaffirmed that retaining power remains the NRM’s top priority and called on leaders and supporters to work hand-in-hand with flag bearers in mobilizing communities and promoting the government’s development agenda.
