The Rukungiri Corporate League has officially launched its 2026 season, marking the fourth edition of the tournament.

The launch was held on Saturday 28February 2026, at Comfort Village Gardens in Rwakabengo Ward, Southern Division, Rukungiri District. The event brought together stakeholders and representatives from various companies ahead of the new season.

Speaking during the press conference, the Chairperson of the Rukungiri Corporate League, Tumwesigye Maurice, expressed appreciation to all companies and participants who took part in the previous edition. He called upon more organizations to join this year’s competition, emphasizing that the league offers more than just sports.

Tumwesigye noted that the primary objectives of the league include promoting marketing and brand visibility for companies, strengthening networking among corporate entities, encouraging healthy lifestyles, and giving back to the community through charitable activities.

He also outlined the registration requirements, stating that each team will pay one hundred thousand Ugandan shillings per outing and a one-time membership fee of fifty thousand Ugandan shillings. He emphasized that all matches will be conducted in line with established rules and regulations, urging participants to maintain high levels of discipline throughout the season.

The Vice Chairperson, Antusasire Twine Richie, assured participating companies that the league provides a strong platform for improving marketing strategies through direct engagement with customers. He revealed that this year’s edition will feature five outings, culminating in a corporate awards dinner at the end of the season.

One of the sponsors, Ariho Nickson, commonly known as Nick Events, who represented Jimpix Studio, commended the league for creating opportunities for companies to connect with clients while also nurturing talent. He pledged continued support for the initiative.

The 2026 Rukungiri Corporate League will feature two categories: an Open Category, which is open to participants of all ages, and a Closed Category, reserved for participants aged 30 years and above or those weighing 80 kilograms and above.

The new season is expected to further strengthen corporate relationships and promote community engagement in Rukungiri District.
