Police in Kabale have released a statement regarding a serious road accident that left one person critically injured. The incident occurred on 16th November 2025 at around 2:00 PM at Kyanamira Village along the Kabale–Mbarara highway.

According to the statement, the crash involved a Toyota Noah, registration number UBM 834P, driven by Rukundo Jean Claude, 23, a Rwandan national, and a motorcycle UES 039F, ridden by 38-year-old Mwine Bob from Kabale District, who was the victim.

Preliminary findings indicate that the Toyota Noah was traveling from the Mbarara side heading towards Kabale when it collided with the motorcycle that was overtaking from the opposite direction.

Police visited and documented the scene, and the injured rider was rushed to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital for medical attention. Both vehicles were impounded and are pending inspection by the Inspector of Vehicles (IOV).

The primary cause of the accident has been attributed to careless overtaking by the motorcycle rider.

Police say inquiries into the matter are ongoing.
