Reverend Nshaba Ruhanga Munturive, the North Kigezi Diocesan Education Coordinator, has urged the newly elected Board of Governors at Kyamakanda Secondary School to work together to uplift the institution.
He made the remarks during the installation of the new Board members at Kyamakanda Secondary School in Buyanja Subcounty, Rukungiri District.
Reverend Munturive commended the school administration for their tireless efforts in nurturing students in Christ through conferences, retreats, and Sunday services, which have also contributed to improved academic performance. He further acknowledged that the Diocese is proud of the school’s achievements in academics, discipline, and co-curricular activities, and encouraged the new board to continue supporting these efforts.
The school has several ongoing development projects, including the construction of a girls’ dormitory, toilets, and staff quarters, all of which are overseen by the Board of Governors.
Mayor of Kebisoni Town Council, who also serves as the Chairperson of the Kyamakanda Secondary School Board of Governors, Alex Mugabe Nathan, expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity to serve another term. He thanked Headteacher David Turyamusima for his dedication to the school’s progress, both in infrastructure development and student enrollment.
Chairperson Nathan pledged to remain transparent and committed to uplifting Kyamakanda Secondary School. He also thanked the teachers for their cooperation with the headteacher and expressed optimism about attracting many students in the next academic year. He further acknowledged parents for their continued support.
Headteacher David Turyamusima Kapira thanked the former Board members for supporting school projects that enhance students’ living standards and education. He pledged to work closely with the newly elected board members to complete ongoing projects and improve academic performance, meeting the expectations of parents.
