North Kigezi Bishop, Rt. Rev. Onesmus Asiimwe, has urged stakeholders to exercise vigilance following the donation of a car to Karuhembe Technical Institute. The vehicle, donated by the family of the late Charles Bastikana, was officially launched at the institute in Kigango Cell, Karuhembe Parish, Kebisoni Subcounty, Rukungiri District.

Speaking at the launch, Bishop Asiimwe commended the Bastikana family for supporting vocational training, noting that the donation would allow students to study driving and acquire practical skills, thereby contributing to a reduction in road accidents caused by untrained drivers.

He further called on parents to trust and support the institute, emphasizing that stakeholders and the school administration must ensure the car serves its intended purpose.

Amos Nahabwe Katemba, son of the late Charles Bastikana and one of the key initiators of the project in collaboration with Lions Club Entebbe, said the donation aims to promote vocational skills such as driving and mechanics. He emphasized that the vehicle should be maintained properly and any issues promptly addressed by students as part of their training.

Reverend Eldard Twikyirize Rukuru, parish priest of St. James Karuhembe C.O.U. and overseer of the institute, expressed gratitude to the Bastikana family for their continued support, pledging that the car would be well maintained and put to good use.
