The Bishop of West Ankole Diocese, Rt. Rev. Johnson Twinomujuni, has applauded Parish Priests, Head of Laities and Treasurers for the service they offer to the Church as he highlighted archievements the Diocese has registered in the last five years, despite the COVID-19 challenges.

He was addressing ameeting of the church leaders at St Peter’s Cathedral, Bweranyangi.

Quoting from 1 Cor. 4:1-2 and 14:33 and 40, the Bishop cautioned church leaders (ordained and laity) to be faithful stewards of church funds and other property.

He urged them to be trust worthy as good stewards in taking care of the church of Christ.

The Bishop also clarified that creation of new dioceses was suspended by the Provincial Assembly. In the meantime, however, he requested Sheema Christians to follow procedures and carry on the work, even as they prepare what would be the centre of the proposed diocese, through their parish and archdeaconry councils, as per the PA’s resolution.

The Dean St Peter’s Cathedral, Bweranyangi, The Very Rev. Wilson Tumuhairwe, led the morning devotion and quoted from Acts 20:28, asking church leaders to take caution and be alert in taking care of Christ’s flock.

The Diocesan Treasurer, Mr. Dan Natukunda, asked church leaders to ensure a solid accountability, have budgets and use return forms for proper accountability of church funds.

In attendance was the Diocesan Secretary and General Manager Jubilee SACCO, Mr Keneth Matsiko who gave an update about the SACCO. He thanked leaders for their support and asked those that have not yet opened accounts to join the SACCO.

The Priests, H.O.L, and Treasurers applauded the Bishop for his examplary leadership that has sold the name of West Ankole Diocese.
