The Police in Rukiga District are investigating the circumstances under which two people were murdered.
The Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson ASP Elly Maate told journalists that the first victim was Silver Rubanda 61, a resident of Rwabatunga cell Noozi parish, Rwamucucu sub-county.
Rubanda allegedly left his home on Tuesday morning heading to a nearby trading center to socialize but he was discovered dead yesterday morning
His body was lying along a footpath a few meters from his home and his neck was tied with a rope that had been used to strangle him.
The shocked residents suspected Aloysius Byamukama 24 a resident of the same area to be behind the murder since the two had been embroiled in a land dispute that was pending judgment on the fateful day.
They hunted him down and badly assaulted him until Police rescued him and conveyed him to Mparo Health Center IV where he died hours later.
Police confirmed that both scenes have been visited and processed, and inquiries are underway so that the law can take its course.
