St. Paul’s Vocational Secondary School Buyanja on Saturday, June 28, 2025, marked its annual St. Paul’s Day in commemoration of the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul. The celebration began with a solemn Mass led by Rev. Fr. Dr. Julius Turyaturanwa, the Dean of Nyakibale Denary, who emphasized the importance of instilling values in students that will guide their future—namely, prayer, discipline, and hard work.
During his sermon, Fr. Turyaturanwa encouraged students to model their lives after Saint Paul, describing him as a passionate and educated man who became a powerful preacher of the Christian faith. He reminded the congregation that faith, supported by prayer and action, is vital in leading a life that draws others closer to God.
The event also featured remarks from Rev. Fr. Mathius Kwehangana, Chairperson of the Board of Governors, who commended the teaching and non-teaching staff for their dedication and teamwork, which continue to yield positive academic results. He praised the school’s commitment to shaping responsible citizens and warned against indiscipline, urging parents to support the values taught at school.
St. Paul’s Day celebrations were held alongside the school’s PTA general meeting. Parents were encouraged to actively participate in their children’s education by providing scholastic materials and supporting school programs. PTA Chairperson Rurema Francis reaffirmed the administration’s dedication to delivering quality education and appealed for continued collaboration between parents and the school leadership.
Head teacher Patrick Tuhaiseomujuni reported steady progress at the school, noting an enrollment of 1,019 students. He urged parents to prioritize infrastructure development and help address challenges such as partial fee payments, limited staff housing, rising costs, and irregular water supply.
The celebration highlighted the school’s mission to combine academic excellence with moral and spiritual development, ensuring students grow into well-rounded and responsible individuals.
