The Bufumbira North Member of Parliament, Hon. Kamara John Nizeyimana has decried the growing sectarianism tendency that is resulting in divisionism in Kisoro district.
The comments were made on Friday while gracing the Kisoro United Boda Boda Operators’ (KUBO) annual general meeting as a guest of honor at Shaza playground in Kisoro Municipality.
Referring to the emergency of Bukimbiri United Boda Boda operators (BUBO) that recently split itself from KUBO, Hon. Kamara said that they are no clear reasons for this division.
He noted that KUBO has been tightly working with security agencies and the district had moved a step further in maintaining the security of individuals both customers and Boda riders adding that this may change once the two associations operate under different leaderships.
He decried the top leadership that has continuously favored the formation of BUBO basing it on tribe yet Kisoro is one.
He noted that he is planning on how to engage other leaders under the Kisoro leader’s forum to find a solution to the sectarianism vice because it will keep people in confusion.
He urged the Kisoro United Boda Boda Operators to keep working in unity and fight for the continuity of their association as a whole.
He pleaded to residents in Kisoro district to always not listen to discrimination messages as most of the members of parliament do not believe in that style of leadership.
Meanwhile, he revealed that he has been amused by a group of people from Bukimbiri County that is vying for bible translation into Rukimbiri language yet there is no defined spoken language in the county.
The Kisoro United Boda Boda operators Chairman, Karagala Robert noted that KUBO leadership will continue to fight for its members who are being lured to join the rival organisation at a cost yet they paid one million to join KUBO.
He also revealed that some ex-leaders of the organization are behind the misunderstandings in the organization.
Meanwhile, the Kisoro RDC Hajji Shafiq Sekandi noted that the NRM government allows the formation of new associations and no one can stop that at a lower level.
He commended Karagala for being a good leader by always organizing meetings for the association and accounting to members. He called upon leaders to respect each other.
