The Former FDC chairperson for Western Division in Rukungiri Municipality John Kashobera has denied having abandoned the party and joning the National Resistance Movement NRM
This was after he was blocked by FDC officials from attending their meeting at at town view gardens in Bwooma western division, where members accused him of meeting President Yoweri Museveni and joining the NRM an act they said weakened their party
According to Aloysius Mugarura, the Rukungiri FDC security secretary, on 1st December 2022, Kashobera along with others attended The World AIDS day function at Rukungiri main stadium where the President was the chief guest and went ahead to meet the president physically at hotel Riverside in Rukungiri Municipality
Mugarura asked Kashoobra to write officially asking party leadership for forgiveness if he wants to rejoin party.
Kashoobera admitted that he went to Hotel Riverside to meet President Museveni but he didn’t confess that NRM is his party.
John Kashobera is father to former Rukungiri district woman MP candidate Nabaasa Innocent Kashobera.
Kashobera was Rukungiri Municipality LC III chairperson for 10 years on the FDC ticket.
He was also a candidate for Constituency Representative (MP) – Rukungiri Municipality and lost the election to Dr Elisa Rutahigwa.
