Two people died on Thursday Evening following an accident at the Rukungiri taxi/Bus park at 8:00pm.
The accident involved a Fuso registration number UBD667H.
Inspector of police James Tibaijuka the Officer in Charge of traffic at Rukungiri CPS identified the deceased as 48-year-Annet Tukamuhabwa, a resident of Kyatoko ward Eastern division Rukungiri Municipality, and one Ezra Beinomugisha from Rwobusisi Nyamayenje Buyanja sub county, who was driving the truck.
Annet died on spot after being knocked by this truck and Beinomugisha who had been rushed to Nyakibale hospital for treatment later died at around 9:00pm.
According to IP Tibaijuka, the Fuso had been at a washing bay for cleanign where the washmen didn’t fix the truck head properly after completing their work.
Tibeijuka said the driver of the truck lost control when the truck head which was not properly fixed got off as the Truck was sloping to the taxi park, ramming into shops near the park entry.
The body of Annet Tukamuhaabwa who died on spot was taken to Rwakabengo health centre 3 mortuary for postmortem and the while body of Ezra Beinomugisha was at Kaloli Lwanga hospital Nyakibale where postmortem was conducted .
