Mr.Katungwensi Moses a retired police officer on Friday celebrated 90th birthday in a mega party at his home in Katerera Rukungiri municipality.
Mr. Katungwensi Moses was born in 1933 in Katenga cell, southern division of Rukungiri municipality, he joined the Uganda police in 1962 until 1995 when he retired from service and started doing his manual work from his home.
Mr Katungwensi said that he has managed to live all these years because of his good and caring wife in addition to inclining himself to Jesus at an early age which helped him learn what practical Christianity means.

Mr Byabagye Moses the assistant commissioner of police and a son to Mr Katungwensi Moses while addressing people who gathered at their home, said that the celebration is more than just an event but a chance to kindle the imagination and rediscover the profound power of being a good person and knowing God.

Byabagye said he feels emotional when he remembers the impact his father has made on him and other children directly and indirectly.
He said that making 90 years is not a simple thing and so requested people to always thank God for any step they take in life.

He attributed his success to his father who taught and showed him how to be an excellent husband and father.

He asked Christians to always celebrate people when they are still alive rather than celebrating when they are dead.

The event was attended by both political, cultural and religous leaders both from in and outside Rukungiri.
