Uganda Red Cross society, Rukungiri branch is this week joining the rest of the world to commemorate the Red Cross, red crescent day which is marked every 8th of may
The day was marked under the theme ‘Everything we do we do it with our heart’
The Red Cross society –Rukungiri Branch has organized activities to mark the occasion including a community service that involved hygiene promotion in Katerera market in Rukungiri municipality, Tree planting, and blood donation mobilization among others
Mr Mugasha Jimmy the Uganda Red Cross society, Rukungiri branch manager said that the chose to start with Katerera market but for this whole week they will be covering different places in Rukungiri and Kanungu districts with blood donation mobilization drive, sanitation and tree planting activities
He so urged residents to support the Uganda red cross society and also join it.
The deputy chairperson Katerera market Mr Tumusiime Godfrey, appreciated the red Cross for the sanitation and blood donation activity.
He added that Red Cross has also imparted knowledge that will facilitate the betterment of their lives and the country at large.
