Police in Rukungiri is investigating circumstances surrounding the death of 50-year-old Posiano Mbabazi, a mason, and resident of Nyakazinga cell Ibanda parish Nyarushanje sub county Rukungiri district.
Elly Maate the Kigezi region Police mouthpiece explains that on 01/10/2022 at around 23:00hrs, the deceased was seen leaving Nyakazinga trading center in the company of his friend identified as Kamugisha Emmanuel.
The two were heading towards Mbabazi’s home
Maate further states that on 2/10/2022 at around 07:00hrs, Ahereza Martha 10, a daughter to Mbabazi went to call him after a person with whom he had an appointment came to meet him.
She was however shocked to discover her father lying dead in the living room of their house.
Ahereza reportedly informed her mother about the incident, who in turn made an alarm that attracted locals and the area chairperson who also notified Police at Rubabo Police Station.
The scene was visited and documented, and the body was conveyed to Rwakabengo health center iii for postmortem.
Maate says inquiries are ongoing
