A section of leaders from Rukungiri have lauded President Yoweri Museveni for visiting Rukungiri district, for the national world AIDS day commemoration, held yesterday at Rukungiri main stadium.
Hon. Mary Paula Turyahikayo, the former Rubabo County MP says that the president’s visit gave the district leaders a chance to remind him about his pledges to district and also highlight the current challenges
She was however not happy with the organizers of the function who prepared lunch for guests, noting that money spent would be given to them as transport
She said that most invited guests failed to attend due transport challenges
Wednesday Twinomujuni, the Nyakishenyi sub county chairperson, said that he failed to attend the function owing to challenges in getting transport means.
The former LC5 chairperson Rukungiri district Andrewson Kateebire Charles said the visit was used by the current leaders who refused to recognize the presence of former leaders.
He noted that most people went back hungry noting that the food was prepared from Makobore high school which is distant from the stadium,
