Police in Rubanda have arrested a 30-year-old Niwamanya Alledi a resident of Mukangumira cell Ruhonwa parish Hamurwa sub-county Rubanda district, for the alleged murder of his nine-year-old biological son Ariho Ankorite.

It’s alleged that, some years back, Nuwamanya separated from his first wife with whom they had produced two children who went with their mother.

He is said to have married another wife and later his children were brought back to him and their stepmother did not like them, hence were mistreated which prompted their mother to withdraw them from their father and they were taken to their maternal grandmother.

The two children were brought back to see their father in June 2023.

And during July 2023 at around 01:00 pm, Niwamanya is alleged to have taken his son to Ruboroga Forest in Ruboroga cell Mpungu parish Hamurwa sub-county, murdered him and dumped the body there.

The information started circulating in the village questioning the disappearance of the son, and when he learnt that people in his village had realized, he decided to take another child back to his grandmother in Rukiga district but the information had already reached them about the disappearance of the deceased. This prompted his grandmother to ask him the whereabouts of the second son and he deceived her that he had taken him to his other relatives.

Having not been fully convinced, they mobilized and arrested him.

Upon interrogation, he revealed that he killed him in July and dumped the body in the Ruboroga forest.

The police of Hamurwa were called by Jonah Tweyongyere on 9/9/2023, and re-arrested him and led them to Ruboroga forest where he killed and dumped the body.

The Scene of the crime was visited and processed, and an exhibit of a presumed human bone which is suspected to be one of the deceased was recovered pending submission to forensic for analysis.

Inquiries into the matter are ongoing.
