The poor state of the Kyanamira-Nyakatare road in Kyanamira sub-county Kabale district has been attributed to the incompetence of Kyanamira sub-county leadership.
Bridget Asiinga, the district councilor for Kyanamira Sub County, while addressing mourners over the weekend at the sendoff of Mzee Sebastian Kitariiko, a resident of Nyakatare village, Kyanamira sub-county in Kabale district said that the sub-county received funds for road Maintainance noting that the poor state of the Kyanamira-Nyakatare road is because sub county councilors for Kyanamira parish did not report the poor state of the road during council meetings for consideration in the budget.
Sore Sana Karoli, the chairperson LC 1 for Nyakatare village says the current state of the road is derailing, the transportation of agricultural produce that includes sorghum, peas, cabbages, and Irish potatoes, among others, from areas of Nyakatare, Rwababa, Nyamiriima, among other villages, to Kabale town for market.
However, Irene Ahimbisa, the area councilor for Kyanamira parish says they reported the state of the road in the sub-county council meetings but due to insufficient funds, it was not considered.
She said that she will try to ensure that it is considered in the next financial year, noting that she will soon engage LC 1 chairpersons for communal work on the said road
