The police of Mbarara City North Division, in collaboration with the Flying Squad Unit, successfully tracked and recovered Musika Ayan, a four-month-old male juvenile, today, December 10, 2024, at approximately 1:19 PM. The infant, the son of Namatovu Sifa and Bombo Bruhan, residents of Rwebihuro Cell, Rwimigina Ward, Mbarara City, was found in Kagaga Parish, Igarama Sub-county, Isingiro District.
The child had been abducted on December 9, 2024, at around 11:00 AM. The suspect, Aineamani Mackline, a 22-year-old woman, reportedly tricked the caretaker into leaving to buy yogurt. Upon the caretaker’s return, the suspect had disappeared with the baby.
Police tracked and apprehended the suspect in Isingiro District, where she had allegedly taken the child to present him as her own to her husband. The victim has since been reunited with his mother.
The public is strongly cautioned to remain vigilant regarding the movements of their children and those around them.
