Police in Bushenyi District are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic death of Nickson Muyambi, a 20-year-old Senior Five student at St. Kagwa High School in Bushenyi. Muyambi, a resident of Kashare 1 village in Mirongo Parish, Kashare sub-county, Mbarara District, collapsed and subsequently died in the examination room during his end-of-year exams.
The incident reportedly occurred on November 17, 2023, at approximately 2:30 PM, while Muyambi was in the science lab. Fellow students rushed to his aid, carrying him to the school clinic as he showed signs of difficulty in breathing. Deputy Head Teacher Godfrey Azahuura, 51, reported that Muyambi was then transferred to Ishaka Adventist Hospital for further medical attention but was sadly pronounced dead.
Marcial Tumusiime, the spokesperson for the Greater Bushenyi Police, disclosed that the body was transported to Kampala International University Hospital, pending a postmortem examination to ascertain the cause of death. The investigation aims to uncover the circumstances leading to the student’s collapse and subsequent passing.
