Police in Sheema District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 32-year-old man who was strangled.
The incident occurred at an unknown time and date but was reported on May 27, 2024, at approximately 6:00 AM at Sheema Central Police Station.
Marcial Tumusiime, the Greater Bushenyi police spokesperson, confirmed the incident and identified the deceased as Emmanuel Ahereza, 23, a boda boda rider and resident of Kabwohe town in Sheema District.
It is alleged that on May 27, 2024, around 6:00 AM, police received information about a male body lying in a bush along the Katwe-Shuuku road in Sheema Municipality.
Tumusiime stated that the body, belonging to a dark-skinned male adult dressed in blue jeans and a Manchester United white zebra jersey, was found 300 meters from the Sheema Municipality offices.
The body was discovered in a left lateral recumbent position, with a white sisal rope tied around the neck and legs. There were no visible physical injuries, but the neck appeared broken.
The body was taken to Kabwohe Health Center IV for a postmortem examination as inquiries into the matter continue.
