37 pilgrims from Nyakibale Catholic Parish in Eastern Division, Rukungiri Municipality have successfully arrived at the Namugongo Martyrs Shrine to commemorate Martyrs Day on June 3rd, 2024.

Among the group were 18 women, 2 teenage girls, and 17 men. They were officially sent off from Nyakibale Catholic Parish on Sunday, May 19th, 2024, around 11 am, and reached the Namugongo Martyrs Shrine this morning at approximately 11 am.

Robert Behangana, hailing from Kihumuro Center, expressed heartfelt gratitude for their successful journey and offered prayers for their intentions.

Yohana Ngaboyarwe, aged 87 and a repeat participant, shared his excitement to undertake the pilgrimage once more, seeking God’s mercy for his family.

Scorah Musimenta Gaetano Owebigyerebye, the Secretary of the Pilgrims from Nyakibale Catholic Parish, thanked God for her daughter’s successful completion of the journey, viewing it as a testament to her steadfast faith.

David Byamugisha, the Chairperson of the Pilgrims from Nyakibale Catholic Parish, praised God for guiding them throughout the peaceful journey and asked for blessings on their prayers.
