Police in Rukungiri is holding one suspect in connection with the death of an 80-year-old woman.
The deceased has been identified as Kisoso Janeroza a resident of Runyinya village Kihanga parish Buhunga sub county Rukungiri district.
According to Elly Maate the Kigezi region Police spokeman, the deceased separated with her husband one Kageihayo Leo in the year 1980 and was later re-settled by their children 26 years later in 2003,
Maate says the deceased was discovered lifeless on the 17/08/ 2022 at around 08:00 AM after a neighbor noticed a gaping hole that had been dug by unknown individuals into her house and informed authorities,
The area chairperson one Begumanya Annet notified police at Buhunga police station where a case of Murder was preferred.
Maate says the scene of crime was visited and documented by the DCID/O, and team, the body was taken to Rwakabengo health center III for Postmortem to ascertain the actual cause of death.
With the help of the sniffer dog, Oribariho Yoram Musa 34 years a business man of the same residence has been arrested to assist the police in the ongoing investigations.
