Police in Rukungiri is holding one suspect for alleged murder.
Elly Maate The Kigezi region police spokesman says a case of murder was Reported by Twekwase Innocent 40 yrs of Kicubanyungu cell Ibanda parish Nyarushanje sub county Rukungiri district
Tumwekwase reported that on 18/8/2022 at around 0400hrs, he heard noise in his boys quarters and when he woke up he found his tenant Ampeire Noah using a big stick to hit one Mucunguzi Edward with whom he was staying
His victim was crying for help lying in a pool of blood.
Tumwekwase reportedly alerted the neighbors who arrested the suspect (Ampeire Noah) and escorted him to police with the exhibit of a hoe handle and there after rushed the victim to Kisiizi hospital where the victim was pronounced dead.
Police mouthpiece Elly Maate says the scene was visited and documented, postmortem was done and inquiries continue.
