Police in Rukungiri district, is investigating circumstances under which a 51-year-old resident of Nyarwanya cell, Burora parish, Nyarushanje sub-county was allegedly murdered.

Elly Maate, the Kigezi regional police spokesperson has identified the deceased as Tukamuhabwa Nahe alias Kaboyi.

Maate explains that the deceased had long-term misunderstandings with his wife Restatuta Asiimwe who even left his home on 01/06/ 2022 leaving him with his son and a mentally challenged daughter.

Maate noted that on the 11th, June 2022 at around 2100hrs, the deceased was seen in a bar taking local booze along with his son Steven Ninsiima at omukihogo trading center,  

 Ninsiima later went home leaving the father in the trading center.

The deceased retired home at an unknown time and used the back door as usual when the son was asleep.

At around midnight, Ninsiima was awakened by something banging inside his father’s room, and as he tried to make an alarm, unidentified assailants threatened to kill him.

This prompted him to open the front door and rushed out to call neighbors.

The neighbors responded and found that the assailants had already taken off leaving their victim already dead with blood coming oozing out of the mouth and the ears.

The scene of the crime was visited and documented by a team from Rukungiri Central police station that also conveyed the body to Rwakabengo health center III for postmortem to ascertain the actual cause of the death.

The wife of the deceased was arrested to assist in the ongoing investigations. #crime #homicide
