The Ntungamo Resident District Commissioner Mucunguzi Geoffrey has vowed to deal with unscrupulous corrupt civil servants who are crippling service delivery across the district.

Cadre Mucunguzi noted that all security agencies in the district will not hesitate to arrest and shame corrupt officials, to curb the vice  

He made remarks yesterday while chairing the Ntungamo District Quarterly Integrity Promotion Forum report held at Embassy Tours Ntungamo municipality organized by Kick Corruption Out of Uganda (KICK-U).

 The district Integrity Forum (DIPF) is both a structure and a process that brings together all key state accountability agencies and civil society at the district level for decision making   

The CEO Kick Corruption out Uganda Kakuru Robert Byamugisha hailed the government for the work done to mitigate shoddy work and all forms of corruption in the country.

 Kakuru revealed that the project has trained 21 community monitors who will be equipped with smart phones under contract monitoring systems and citizens’ feedback systems for easy reporting of shady deals in their areas of jurisdiction.

The Executive Director South Western Institute for Policy and Advocacy (SOWIPA) Natamba Edward Ssalongo commended implementing partners for coming on board to save Ugandans who suffered a lot due to corrupt officials.

Kick Corruption out Uganda in partnership with the GIZ-German government supported by the European Union is implementing a project, strengthening and establishment of District integrity promotion forum in the districts of Kabale, Kanungu, Kisoro and Ntungamo.
