Police in Kabale are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of a 34-year-old woman named Nyirabizimana Colodina, who was a Rwandan national and worked as a sex worker.
She resided in Kigongi A cell, Kigongi ward, central division, within Kabale municipality/district.
The incident in question occurred on October 9, 2023, at approximately 8:00 AM at New California Bar and Lodge in Kigongi. The deceased, who was known to engage in sex work at this establishment, was discovered lifeless in her room by the lodge’s manager, Evan Twinomugisha.
Nyirabizimana Colodina had been residing at New California Bar and Lodge in room 09 since July 2023 while conducting her sex work activities. According to reports, she was last seen in the bar on the night of October 8, 2023, in the company of an unidentified male customer. The following morning, on October 9, 2023, around 8:00 AM, the manager found her deceased when he came to collect rent payments.
A report regarding this sudden death was filed with Kabale police station, and law enforcement personnel visited the scene to document the incident.
The deceased’s body was subsequently recovered and transported to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination in order to determine the cause of death. Ongoing inquiries are being conducted into this matter.
