The Kisoro District LCV Chairman, Abel Bizimana has appealed to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) not to reinstate Molly Nyiramahoro as the Kisoro District Senior Records Officer due to her continuous misconduct and misuse of office.
In a circular dated 19th July 2023, the CAO of Kisoro requested the Senior Records Officer to hand over the Registry to the CAO’s office for a week, aiming to address administrative issues within the unit.
CAO Hajji Badru Mayanja confirmed this decision in an interview with our Reporter last weekend, stating that he needed time to investigate the accusations against the unit.
However, the outcomes of the investigations were not revealed. The CAO mentioned that two out of three staff in the registry have been redeployed to other units, while Nyiramahoro Molly has been directed to set up a resource center and manage archives for the district.
He emphasized that Nyiramahoro has not yet responded to the accusations, preventing him from taking appropriate administrative actions.
Despite the ongoing investigations, the Kisoro District LCV Chairperson insists that Nyiramahoro Molly should not be reinstated in the same capacity as the Senior Records Officer.
Bizimana urges the CAO not to hesitate in interdicting and submitting unruly staff to the service commission for complete dismissal from duty.
Bizimana is committed to advocating for justice and protecting civil servants and community members in the district who may be subjected to misconduct by individual staff. He views himself as a champion for advocacy, both locally and internationally, and mentions examples of individuals he has helped in achieving justice.
In response to the situation, CAO Badru Mayanja plans to invite the public and civil servants to file their complaints about the registry with his office. The grievance committee will handle these complaints appropriately.
