The territorial police of Kanungu have arrested 46yrs old Agaba Onacklet who is alleged to have strangled his 10 years old biological son to death.
The deceased is Ivan Nuwagaba who was a pupil at Karuhinda primary school and resident of Kazirankye village Northern ward Kanungu town council Kanungu district.
It’s alleged that on 28/06/ 2023 at about 10:00 am the suspect sent the deceased to buy for him cigarettes of 1000 Uganda shillings and the deceased instead bought only 500 Uganda shillings and ate the balance which angered the father who threatened to kill him any time he lays his hands on him.
The deceased out of fear ran away from the father until on Sunday 02/07/2023 at about 01:00 pm when he targeted the victim while alone at Kanyangyende village Nothern ward Kanungu town council, and stealthily grabbed him and strangled him using a rope and pretended to be suicide and hanged the body under the mango tree while legs were straight on the ground comfortably and the rope completely loose.
Police were alerted by the area chairperson Hellen Ayebare, the crime scene was visited and documented, a postmortem was done and the suspect was arrested and detained pending prosecution and inquiries are underway.
