Former students of Makobore high school have started to mobilize for the school to meet the North Kigezi diocesan 6th bishop’s dream of reviving this school.
In a confirmation service at Kyabagyerwa parish Kashenyi Archdeaconry North Kigezi diocese, two old boys of the school including Dr. Muhwezi Edson Mpirime and the former Rujumbura County MP Hon. Fred Turyamuhweza, told congregants that they are with the bishop in fulfilling his charge of reviving old schools.
Edson said that it’s the role of Christians to revive Makobore by taking their children there for education and supporting the school financially whenever it is necessary.
Hon. Turyamuhweza asked believers to thank God for the gift of bishop Onesmus who is focused on uplifting education standards in the diocese.
Turyamuhweza also vowed to support bishop Onesmus in other developmental plans like coffee growing since it is a strategy for eradicating poverty in the diocese.
In the same service; the North Kigezi diocesan bishop Right Rev. Onesimus Asiimwe has confirmed 42 believers in the Anglican faith.
In his sermon, Bishop Asiimwe challenged newly confirmed Christians to be good examples and to always defend the Anglican Church of Uganda and the name of Jesus Christ.
He said after confirmation, most Christians relax yet Satan likes fighting those who are confirmed and strong in faith.
Rev. Medias Twinomugisha the Kyabagyerwa church of Uganda parish priest hailed Bishop Onesmus for his focus on developing the diocese vowing to support him, especially in implementing a coffee growing poverty eradication strategy.
