The Kabale Deputy Resident Commissioner, Ronald Bakak has cautioned LC2 Chairperson in the district against asking for bribes from Parish Development Model beneficiaries.

The caution follows the recent arrest of LC 2 Chairperson of Musamba Parish in Rubaya Sub County, Ndorwa West County, Monday Charles who was apprehended for accepting bribes from members of the Parish Development Model on orders of Bakak following numerous complaints from leaders and members of the Parish Development Model.

Bakak says that taking bribes is against PDM guidelines. He instead advised LC2 Chairperson being the chairperson of PDM Committees to be the whistle-blowers and shun away from soliciting bribes from PDM beneficiaries.

He also asked Parish chiefs, town agents, and principal town agents to abide by the guidelines of the Parish Development Model program emphasizing that no kind of payment is expected from any beneficiary to access parish revolving funds reminding the public that all processes must be free of charge.

He also emphasized that the method of identifying beneficiaries changed, saying that all beneficiaries must now be identified from a community meeting at the village level through an enterprise group witnessed by Chairman LC1,2, Parish chief, town agent, or principal town agent.
