Police in Isingiro District is investigating a case of kidnap and murder of Turyasingura Evaristo aged 47years old a businessman/chairperson LC1 Rugarama cell Kamubeizi Town Council
It’s alleged that on Friday 18/08/2023 an unknown person called the deceased inviting him to attend an MK project meeting at Igongo Hotel and even sent him an allowance of 100,000/= Uganda shillings on his airtel money on 19/08/2023 to lure him into accepting to travel.
On 20/08/2023 at about 09:00 pm the same people called the deceased to meet them at Keizibate stage along Kikagate Mbarara road so that they proceed for the said meeting, the deceased parked a few clothes and proceeded to the place on a boda boda ridden by his son Tuhirirwe Gideon
When they reached the stage they found a Toyota Wish motor vehicle with registration number plates covered with MK project stickers on entering the motor vehicle drove off so fast causing suspicion in the mind of the son. On reaching home they tried to contact the deceased and those that had invited him for a meeting but all their phones were already off.
The deceased body was discovered on Monday 21/08/2023 at about 05:30 pm at Kyamusoni mile 48 along Kikagate Kitwe Road tied with ropes and had been strangled with a piece of cloth
The body was retrieved and taken to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem
The motive of the murder has not been established and no arrests have been made yet but investigations are still ongoing into the matter.
