Police in Kabale district are holding a 3rd year student of Kabale University over a series of robbers and posing as a UPDF officer
Kakuru Tumusiime Gaston 26 a student of Education majoring in Literature in, English and resident of Nyakambu cell, southern division Kabale municipality has allegedly been carrying out robberies and thefts and impersonating a lieutenant of the Uganda Peoples defense forces (UPDF)
ASP Elly Maate the Kigezi region Police spokesman listed a series of cases against the suspect including the one in which he robbed one Joseph Nuwagaba of Nkombe cell Bushuro parish Kitumba sub county , of his 1.5 m shillings and phone on 1/12/2022 at 9:00PM at Mwisi,
The suspect also robbed one Patrick Aharizira of Butobere cell central division of his motor vehicle registration number UAT 856J on 15/4/2023 at around 04:30AM at Nyakitoro cell Mwanjari ward southern division,
Other cases include the theft of laptops and phones from fellow students
Maate says, the suspect was operating along with other two who are still at large
