Parents and teachers of Munyonyi primary school in Nyandongo Parish, Katanda sub-county, Katerera in Rubirizi district are counting losses after heavy rains destroyed their school.

The rain which lasted for over 3 hours on Monday afternoon left the school unroofed, and crops and gardens were also destroyed.

Mr Deus Ruhangariyo, the Headteacher of Munyonyi primary school said the buildings that were destroyed were housing p1, p2, and p3.

Rev.Fr.Levious Muhwezi Assistant Parish Priest Kyamwiru Catholic Parish assured parents that the building will be built in a few months so that pupils can resume their studies.

He added that the government should come to their rescue because of the current economic crisis in Uganda.
