Police in Kabale district are still probing the motive behind the murder of Conrad Ninsiiima (32) a resident of Nyarukonkoromi cell, Rushaki ward, Southern division in Kabale Municipality who died in the hands of a group of people in a suspected “blood ritual” sacrifice.
Ninsiima, an electrician was last week on Saturday morning found murdered and dumped in Nyamabare cell, Rushaki ward, Kabale Municipality on Rushaki-Rugyendeire road, before he was slaughtered at Bombocha bar and lodges in Kigongi ward, Central division, in Kabale Municipality.
Elly Maate, the Kigezi region police spokesperson confirmed that the deceased was cut on the neck and his blood was suspected to have been taken.
He added that they are also hunting for the night watchman at Bombocha, the driver of the vehicle that transported the body of Ninsiima to Rushaki, and the Boda Boda rider who was allegedly hired to transport the blood to Lake Bunyonyi where it was allegedly sold, as they also interrogate the suspects to lead them to others.
Maate said that this is the first time in their police records to register a murder case that involves blood sacrifice adding that such an incident, will help police to dig deeper into whether such cases have been rocking the area. Apparently, the Police is holding five suspects related to this matter as investigations continue.
Meanwhile, Family members including Christine Natukwasa, the widow, Dinah Tumuhimbise, the deceased’s sister, and Josephat Rukundo, another brother to the deceased are asking the police to speed up investigations into the matter. They said that if well executed and the perpetrators are brought to book, they will feel justice is realized.
